A Little About Me

WOODWORKING + REAL ESTATE

Hi, I'm Matt DeSimone, the hands behind Montane Woodworks. My love for woodworking and making goes way back to my childhood days, where I was always tinkering and building things. From working as a finish carpenter, timber framer, and natural builder, my passion for woodworking has grown and evolved over time. During my college years, I honed my skills in woodworking and furniture making, and my fascination with intricate details only grew stronger.

During the COVID pandemic, I found a new niche in creating reclaimed art pieces that captured the beauty of outdoor landscapes. It resonated with people who were longing for the outdoors while being stuck indoors. This became the theme of my woodworking, and thus Montane Woodworks was born.

When I'm not in my wood shop, you'll likely find me enjoying the outdoors snowboarding, biking, fishing, and finding new places to take my dog. I’m also involved with the Colorado Green Building Guild and serve on a few committees to advocate for green building.

In addition to my woodworking, I'm also a full-time Realtor serving the Front Range area in Colorado. I initially became a Realtor for my own real estate ventures, but soon realized that my background gave me a unique advantage to serve others. My approach is to be an advisor and guide rather than a salesperson. To help people find the homes and opportunities that are going to make their lives the best they could possibly be. Whether someone is buying or selling, regardless of their budget or experience, my goal is to make the process as smooth and painless as possible.
